Neither of us knew what it meant to do business. We didn't know how to manage a warehouse, we had no idea how to create an advertising campaign. We didn't start with the idea of doing business, and perhaps it is precisely because of this that we have come this far.
The idea of opening the e-commerce was my husband Sava. I remember very well when he used to say to me: “who knows, maybe we will reach a hundred orders a month.” And instead, in just three years, we have reached hundreds of orders a day. Who would have ever thought? Certainly not us. Especially since we knew that the market was super crowded with nail brands.
And today we are here, to tell you about this very important milestone .But why do we change the pack only after three years? By now, when you think of Cactus, the first thing that comes to mind is the square white bottle with the black cap. However, you should know that at the beginning, choosing an existing bottle was a forced decision. Simply put, when we launched the brand, we could not afford to create packaging from scratch. And not because the packaging itself has a huge cost... the problem is the quantities. We have been working from the very beginning to create something of our own, but we were told that the minimum order was 50,000 pieces, the only way to get a fixed price from the factory. And when you start, 50,000 pieces are a lot. Especially for us who dreamed of 300 orders a month. Of course, we could have looked for an investor or asked for a loan.But there is a beautiful saying that kept resonating in our heads: don't take a step longer than your leg. And we truly believed it. Also because the most beautiful growth is the one that is experienced one step at a time. You can't always have everything right away. Or at least, it wasn't that way for us.
We started working on the new packaging in February 2024, almost two years ago. And not because creating packaging is so complicated, but because we wanted to be sure of our growth. And we continued in an even more concrete way last year, when we finally started ordering samples based on our requests.
When taking such a step – giving a true identity to a brand that previously did not have one – everything must be chosen carefully: the shape, the color, every detail.We were undecided between dark green, which is our main color, and cream, which is elegant and goes well everywhere. It wasn't an easy choice, but now we are in love with the result .
And I am sure that if we had had the money three years ago, it wouldn't have turned out this well. We probably would have worked with a graphic designer, yes, but our ideas wouldn't have been as mature yet. Today we know that having an internal team means exchanging ideas, growing, finding the best solutions together. And that when you take the necessary time… something truly unique is born. Being able to finally share it with you is our greatest joy. We hope you will fall in love with it, just as we did.
