Summer is approaching and your mind starts to wander to distant seas, tropical islands, and seabeds rich with colorful corals? Our new collection, Reef, might be just what you need! Now we will tell you how to use it to create vibrant nail art, so you can have the sea always at your fingertips.

How to create a sea effect nail reconstruction

Start with the mechanical preparation of the nails, cutting the cuticles (you can use our Cuticle Remover) and the chemical preparation.

Continue with the application of the bonding base: our Step One base will strengthen the nails and ensure that your reconstruction lasts a long time, without any lifting. A thin layer is enough, almost like a polish; cure under the lamp.

It’s time to apply the sea effect on the nails with our Blueberry Sorbet gel , whose color resembles the crystal-clear waters of tropical paradises. To create a great structure, you can use dual forms or nail forms. Finish everything by filing the structure into your preferred shape.

Let's give some dimension to the sea by drawing waves. Apply a layer of Step One base without curing it; wet the tips of an ombre brush in the white Painting Gel, then use it to lightly touch the nail with a gentle wavy motion.

How to create Reef nail art

Equip yourself with a brush, creativity, and our new Reef collection!

To execute all the designs, we used a brush 09, but you can also use a brush 07.

1. Anemone Coral

For this nail art, you will need the color C166 (Anemone) and the Clear acrylic powder .

Draw the coral and, without curing, sprinkle some acrylic powder on top. With the help of a dotting tool or a wooden stick, create small holes along the entire coral.

Cure in the lamp for 1 minute, then remove the excess powder with the help of a brush.

2. Jellyfish

For this nail art, you will need the color C169 (Jellyfish), the Clear Sorbet Gel, and the Reflex Top Coat.

Start by drawing the tentacles, then mix a bit of color with the Clear Sorbet Gel to achieve a more transparent purple: with this, create the head of the jellyfish. To give it a more unique look, apply a layer of gel polish S026 over the jellyfish head or any other glitter you deem suitable.

Polymerize for 1 minute. Seal only the glitter with a layer of top coat, without going beyond the boundaries of the jellyfish. Polymerize in the lamp for 1 minute.

3. Starfish

For this nail art, you will need the color C167 (Starfish) and the white Art Pasta.

Draw the base of the star with C167. To give it a more three-dimensional look, mix the color with the white Art Pasta: with this thick mixture, go over the center of the base again. Polymerize in the lamp for 1 minute, then add dots on the star with the same mixture as before. Polymerize again for 1 minute.

The Art Pasta is self-sealing: the relief remains stable without the need for a top coat.

4. Shell

For this nail art, you will need the color C168 (Shell), the color C167 (Starfish), Art Pasta white, and the Sorbetto Clear gel.

Create a mixture with the Sorbetto Clear gel and C168, which should not be too transparent like the head of the jellyfish. Use it to create the three-dimensional structure of the shell, shaping it towards the tip. Cure for 1 minute. Trace the lines of the shell with a mixture of C168, C167, and Art Pasta white. Cure again for 1 minute.

Both the Sorbetto gel and the Art Pasta are self-sealing, so they do not require a top coat. The drawn reliefs remain well visible and defined.

Thanks to the Reef collection, we have created a perfect summer nail art, with bright colors that remind of the coral reef and put anyone who sees it in a good mood. Now all that's left is to book a trip to discover the most beautiful reefs in the world - as well as your manicure, of course!
