The filter material used in the NDC 2000 vacuum cleaner carbon filter is a unique composite consisting of porous, highly effective activated carbon, which is coated on both sides with a material based on micro polyester fibres.
Activated carbon is a safe product with a porous structure and an extremely large specific surface area of up to 1500m2/gram.
Carbon activation is done by subjecting the carbon to high temperatures with limited access to air.
Thanks to its porous surface, activated carbon has excellent adsorption properties, thus binding and neutralizing many harmful substances and odors.
The carbon filter for the NDC 2000 AFINIA vacuum cleaner uses a material that has a surface area of 2385 cm2 and an activated carbon mass of 16 g, which gives a carbon surface area of 24,000 m2 ! The composite filter material captures most impurities in the filtration process in the size of 1 -10 micrometers, eliminating unpleasant and harmful substances.
