Arched Ballerina Dual Forms, 150 pcs / 15 sizes
The new Dual Forms are perfect—the labels, slightly less so!
For this reason, the first batch is available with a 10% discount while stocks last.
Designed and created by Cactus, the new Arched Ballerina Dual Forms are an alternative to traditional nail forms, allowing you to create the entire nail structure from the outset.
Made from ABS, a strong yet flexible material, these new Dual Forms can be used to create any natural salon shape as well as very long shapes such as Ballerina and Modern Almond.
- The repositioned apex makes them suitable for both small, short nail beds and larger, longer nail beds, without needing to alter the form or add extra product.
- They are designed to be even more flexible around the cuticle area while remaining stronger at the tip, helping to minimise the risk of creating steps in this area.
- They are transparent and feature internal guidelines designed to make product application easier for both rounded and square shapes.
- A central guide divides the Dual Form symmetrically, helping you position it centrally and align it with the line drawn on the finger.
- Large, clearly visible numbering saves time when selecting the most suitable size for each nail.
What types of nails are these Dual Forms suitable for?
The new Cactus Dual Forms are designed to fit all types of nails and nail plates. Their 50% curvature makes them ideal for both flat natural nails with a less pronounced apex and nails with a very pronounced C-curve.
Which shapes can you create?
The new Cactus Arched Ballerina Dual Forms can be used to create several extension shapes: Ballerina, Short Almond, pinched Long Almond, Oval and Short Square.
You can see examples of the shapes in the second product image.
How do you choose the correct size?
Place the tip over the nail and check that it aligns perfectly with the lateral growth points of the nail plate. The Dual Form should hug the nail without applying pressure and cover the entire surface. There must also be space between the Dual Form and the growth points for the product.
All available sizes are shown in the product images.
How do you use the Dual Forms?
- Remove any remaining old product.
- Carefully mattify the entire nail plate with a 180-grit file or buffer. Do not leave any shiny areas, as the product would not adhere correctly.
- Clean and degrease the nails using Cactus Cleaner and a pad.
- Apply Cactus Nail Prep and wait 30 seconds to allow the product to evaporate completely.
- Apply a thin layer of Scotch Primer, working it over the entire nail plate. Allow it to air-dry for one minute. This is an important step, although our products already provide excellent wear even without nail-preparation products.
- Apply a thin layer of Step One Base, working it into the nail without touching the skin. Immediately apply a second, polish-style layer without curing the first layer, making sure the entire surface is covered, then cure.
- Important: If the base does not cover the nail plate completely, the gel may not adhere correctly.
- Select the correct Dual Form size for each finger. Place it on one growth point and rotate it until it touches the opposite growth point, leaving at least 1 mm of space at each side so the gel can form the correct thickness between the natural nail and the Dual Form.
- Apply your chosen product—gel or acrygel—inside the Dual Form, creating the desired shape immediately.
- Blend the product around the cuticle area, gradually reducing it to zero thickness.
- When using a self-levelling gel such as Mousse or Sorbetto, pay particular attention to the sidewall thickness so it does not become too thin.
- Holding the Dual Form at a 45° angle, position it near the cuticle area, keeping it 2 mm away from the cuticle.
- Once the Dual Form is straight, lower it and reduce the angle while maintaining pressure near the cuticle until its sides are parallel to the finger. It must not point upwards or downwards, as this could create an incorrect shape and increase the risk of cracks or breakage.
- Position a mini UV lamp close to the cuticle area and flash-cure for 10 seconds to secure the Dual Form.
- Turn the finger over and use a small brush to remove or smooth any excess product beneath the free edge.
- Cure under the lamp for one minute. If desired, pinch the shape by placing the pinching tool over the Dual Form after 15 seconds of curing.
- Remove the Dual Form by applying gentle pressure to both sides, working from the growth points towards the tip.
- File the desired shape, use an e-file beneath the nail to remove excess product, and refine any steps with the “Blue Finishing d0215” carbide bit.
- If desired, apply two thin coats of colour and seal with Reflex No Wipe Top Coat.
